OMHA-GCMHA Player & Goalie Development Program
The OMHA-GCMHA Player & Goalie Development Program runs sessions each year in alignment with the league’s regular season. It provides all its players and goalies at the U9, U11 and U13 levels the opportunity to build and strengthen their hockey skills.
The foundation for the program’s success lies in the OMHA-GCMHA's strong commitment to player development. The association’s allocation of ice time designated to the Player Development Program gives these players and goalies the opportunity for far more ice time, well beyond what teams are regularly provided.
The program is designed with a major focus on player participation. Sessions are delivered in a manner to ensure a balanced skill set for the players, to help promote greater self-confidence and, ultimately, to increase participation.
The Development Team is made up of a group of volunteer instructors and on-ice assistants. Their commitment and dedication to the development of the fundamental skills required to play the game will, undoubtedly, help our OMHA-GCMHA players progress throughout their years within the association and beyond.
