Unbeaten Streak Stays Intact!!!
2014-01-13With a 1-1 draw at Earl Armstrong last night, the Midget A2 Orleans RUSH kept its impressive streak alive.
In fact, what was more impressive was the effort seen from our boys against the number one team in the league who were out for revenge after being beaten by the RUSH in their own barn on January 2nd. Goalie Justin was the difference in this contest, making several fantastic glove stops at key times throughout the match. Orleans got on the scoreboard first at 8:31 of the middle stanza when Vincent fired a quick shot through a crowd and caught the Jets goalie napping.
Metcalfe seemed the hungrier of the two teams but the RUSH did well to hold the Jets off the gamesheet until penalty trouble stacked up and the opposition tied the game with a powerplay tally four minutes into the third period. More penalty trouble prevented Orleans from mounting any kind of sustained offensive attack but with Metcalfe unable to take advantage, the game ended in a satisfying 1-1 tie.
